Rare Dedication - In the Steps of St. Paul - Rich and Cowan 1st HC (1936)
Title: In the Steps of St. Paul
Author: H.V. Morton
Description: 1st HC (1936) - One of a Kind - Interesting dedication from Smith's Falls Nursing Associateion to Miss Amy Church. Amy Church of Smiths Falls is mentioned in records (specifically The Canadian Nurse, Volume 39, circa 1943) regarding a shortage of nurses and difficulty in transportation that prevented meetings. She may have been one of the nurses attending the Almonte Train wreck as the V39 document states "Miss Amy Church of Smiths Falls reports that due to shortage of nurses and difficulty in transportation, no meetings have been held. However, in compliance with government regulations a hospital unit was formed and, at the time of the Almonte train wreck, five nurses were dispatched with all possible speed to the scene of disaster. The hospital immediately prepared for an influx of patients and all felt they could carry on more efficiently should another emergency arise."
